Computing Vs Philosophy

2009-12-08

It would appear that once again in my life, things have become seperated between these two very different topics again.

Back when this blog was only really for me, I could write about both philosophy and computing on the same pages and that was ok, because nobody read any of them anyway! However, recently ITBR has become more popular due most likely to publicity caused by the recent release of the AppShell beta.

My proposed solution is to split ITBR, computing, philosphy and ‘everything’ sections. More on this soon.

  1. Dear entity;

    Seperations and distinctions may have their place, however seperating philosophy from computing (in general) puts us all in danger…..

    Much as I have had my own odious peregrinations with philosophy (as a biologist) I have come to value the percentile (small) of philosophers with pragmatic perspective.

    Often the one may be enriched by the other.

    If you, my friend, have inclinations to both dialectics, you would be remiss to deprive us of a lesser known snapshot.

  2. Hi Douglas,

    My fear is, that perhaps speak of computing on the homepage will put off those here for philosophical reasons and vica versa.

    Although i think you are not alone in your interest in both camps among our readership.

    Perhaps it is enough to have redesigned the site so that it looks less daunting and dark? (Out of interst, do you like it?)

    Many Thanks,
    Sam
